Palm sugar is widely used in Asian cuisine. It is a type of sugar extracted from the palm tree. The taste of palm sugar is usually a bit sweet-caramel-like. Because palm sugar is made by boiling down the sap of the palm tree, you often get palm sugar in blocks or discs. This variant, however, is a sprinkleable powder, similar to e.g. soft sugar.
